Our Vision
Lifeline Theater & Art is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization created to provide an outlet for unlocking the potential of children and adults with special needs through integrated theater and arts programs. We create a safe, nurturing environment where each person is free to interact and learn what they like or don’t like. Their choices are valued and respected.
Lifeline Theater was established by Billy Ayres and Laura Ayres in 2014 in order to raise awareness and to expand the reach to programs they have developed for over twenty years. Our vision is of a world where people with special needs reach their rightful place in society.
Our Values
We believe in the transformative power of the arts. The role played by the arts in helping to heal illness is well-documented and persuasively argued.`
We believe creative expression leads to healing and growth. As we internalize the feelings and experiences of a creative process it enriches and rewards our lives.
We believe participating in arts programs improve cognitive, social and self discovery outcomes. Over time ones participation in an arts program helps to define themselves and mirrors who they are.
We believe the healing that occurs is reciprocal. Opening up your heart to another actually brings out the best in you. Caring for others is a bedrock feature of human nature.
